Dear Neighbor,

We have entered a battle for the heart and soul of Lambertville. We are concerned that the community we know, and love is in danger. We need your help.

A proposal for a luxury hotel and massive wedding complex at the former Finkles’ sites threatens to overwhelm our small city.

But this is not inevitable—we can stand together and protect what makes Lambertville special! We, not developers, should determine our city’s future.

If you care about the future of our community, we need your help to stop the proposed plan!

Concerned residents and neighbors have come together to form S.O.U.L. – Save Our Unique Lambertville—in response to the controversial development proposal.  Here’s what you can do to help:

We are already seeing changes that are affecting our quality of life and eroding Lambertville’s historic charm. Large corporations and real estate speculators are trying to reshape our city in ways that threaten its unique character and close-knit spirit.  We are not opposed to change – just the size and scale of what is being proposed.

The plan is massive and includes:

A 49-room luxury hotel with 35 suites and amenities covering the entire original Finkles’ lot, (with an additional level that extends the length of the building) plus a 7-room spa, and breakfast room

A large 150-person wedding mill (with multiple events per day!) at the old Strand Theater, adding a new story at the back with more hotel rooms.

A 90 -car parking deck (that is insufficient to support the 200+ guests and 90+ employees)

All in a neighborhood with very narrow streets and limited access (not to mention the new brewery, antique store and dispensary, open this summer, right behind the site using the same access routes!)

This is just the beginning! You’ve seen it in other local towns!  Once it starts, it sets a precedent for continued over-development!!!  Let’s stop it now before it’s too late!

Together, we CAN make a difference and protect the place we love!!

Sincerely,
